Fire Protection
Fire protection with Intumescent coatings for buildings
Public and private buildings must meet the highest fire protection requirements to ensure the safety of both personnel and equipment. This can be done by applying fire-resistant or fire-retardant coating systems. In case of fire, the fire retardant paint applied to the structures swells and forms an insulating layer. This ensures the stability of the structures for the desired period of time.
Iris offers solutions for both cellulose fires and hydrocarbon fires and can apply them both in the paint shop and on site. We always follow the guidelines of both the WTCB's TV238 (the application of intumescent paint systems to steel structures) and the "European industry best practice guide on the application of intumescent coatings to constructional steel".

Custom fire protection and expertise from Iris
We calculate for each project the coating thickness required for the desired protection period based on the required fire resistance R, the critical steel temperature, the number of sides to be protected, and so on. In addition, each project is delivered with an as-built file that includes verification measurements of the applied layer thickness measurements and a certificate from the paint supplier.
With Iris, you will always have a single point of contact with the guarantee of professionally trained coating experts. We understand your concerns about your construction and want to work with you to get this job done right.
